Mr. & Mrs. 코알라의 과거 이야기와 함께,

'포틀랜드'에서의 Mr. & Mrs. 코알라의 삶을 이야기 해보려고 한다.

우리 코알라 가족은 '라라랜드(Los Angeles)'에서 방 한칸의 작은 아파트에서 서식하고 있었다.
Mr. & Mrs. KoArLA lived in a small, one bedroom condo in La La Land, a nickname for Los Angeles.
거침없이 높게 올라가는 '라라랜드'의 집 값, 그리고 훗날 태어날 아기 코알라의 편안한 생활을 위하여,
Rental prices in La La Land are extremely high, so to buy a house, to create a comfortable life for future baby KoArLA, was the option.
코알라 부부는 좀 더 넓고 좋은 보금자리를 위해 '라라랜드'에서 새로운 서식처를 구하는 중이었다.
For that reasons, Mr. & Mrs. KoArLA were looking to buy a house in 'La La Land'.
하지만, 부족한돈과, 모기지 대출을 받는다 하더라도
However, we didn't have enough money to buy a house in a decent neighborhood, and even if we got a mortgage loan,
집 값에 더해 30년간 집 값에 준하는 이자를 합한 돈을 달달이 나눠 내야하는 현실에 코알라 부부는 좌절하고 있었다.
we would have to pay an interest that would be twice the price of the house in 30 years. This reality made Mr. & Mrs. KoArLA were frustrated.
그러던 중,
While we thought about that,
엘크(Elk) 부부가 오레건주 '포틀랜드' 근처에 땅을 사서, 각자 서로가 꿈꾸는 집을 직접 지어 텃밭을 가꾸면서
Mr. & Mrs Elk suggest moving to Portland, to buy land and build the dream house with a small farm.
현실에 좌절하던 코알라 부부는 훗날 태어날 아기 코알라가, 이 곳
We started imagining future baby KoArLA growing up healthy and happy in 'Portland', with clean water, air and beautiful nature.
깨끗한 물과 공기가 그리고 아름다운 자연이 있는 '포틀랜드'에서 건강하고, 행복하게 자라나는 것을 상상하며

Elk 부부와 '포틀랜드'로 이사를 결심하게 된다.
This is when Mr. & Mrs. KoArLA decided to move in Portland with Mr. & Mrs. Elk.

그렇지만, 새로운 서식지를 완성하기 동안 코알라 부부와 엘크부부는 포틀랜드에 지낼 곳이 없었다는 문제가 있었다.
There is one problem, there was no place to stay until the dream home was built.
하지만, 콜럼비아 강 건너 바로 옆 워싱턴주 'Vancouver'란 작은 도시에서 거주 중 이던 Mr. Elk의 부모님(Mr. & Mrs. Owl)은
However, Mr. Elk's Parents (Mr. & Mrs. Owl), who have been live in Vancouver, WA, which is next to Columbia River decided to help.
Elk 부부와 코알라부부를 새로운 집이 완성 될 때까지 같이 생활 할 수 있도록 도와 주셨다.
They suggested that Elk and KoArLA families stay in their home until the new homes are built.
그 후, 코알라 부부와 Elk 부부는 Mt. Hood 산 끝 자락에 위치한 언덕으로 미래의 '서식지'를 결정하게 되었으며,
Then, Elk and KoArLA couples bought the land on a is small hill at the edge of Mt. Hood.
자연이 아름다운 '포틀랜드'서의 행복한 미래를 꿈꾸며,
Our dream of being surrounded by beautiful nature, like you find in 'Portland', is coming true.
지금의 특별한 세 가족(KoArLA, Elk, Owl)의 '한지붕 세가족'의 이야기는 시작이 되었다.
So, 'Under the Same Roof', story is taking shape with the three families (KoArLA, Elk and Owl).
