That day, all my classes were finished,
나는 러시아 곰과 만나기로 약속 한 방 '2222' 로
As I’m heading to 2222 room to keep my promise that I made to Russian Bear,
‘조용히 공부하고 있는 학생들이, 내가 문 열고 들어가는 소리에 나에게 시선이 한 번에 쏠리진 않겠지?’
I started thinking of the sound the door would make in a quite room of students studying with stares directed at me as the students are interrupted from their studies.
그런 방 안의 분위기를 상상하며 걸어가고 있었다.
As I was walking, the atmosphere in room 2222 played clearly in my head.
마치 처음 놀이터로 놀러가는 어린 아이의 마음과 같이, 새로운 곳에 대한 호기심과 두려움과 함께
Curiosity and fear started seepping in as I thought of the place I have never been to before. (Like the new kid on the playground)
그렇게 난, 어느 덧 문 앞에 도착했다.
I suddenly ended up at the front door.
숨을 잠시 멈추고, 최대한 소리가 나지 않도록, 난 조심히 문을 열었다.
As I held my breath, trying to not make any sounds, I opened door.
하지만 상상했던 것과는 다른.
It was not at all what I imagined.
여러 학생들이 하얀 보드앞에 둘려쌓여 물리학 숙제를 이야기하며 풀고 있었다.
Many students were around the white board, and they were discussed with physics homework problems.
'휴'~ 하고 숨을 쉬고, 앉을 자리를 찾는 중, 누가 큰 소리로 나를 향해 물어 본다.
'Phew~' While I started to breath again and looked to find a seat. Then, someone asked to me,
“야 너 이 문제 풀었어?”
“Hey, did you solve the problem?”
러시안 곰이었다.
It was “Russian Bear”
“음… 대충…”
“um… kind of….”
“여기 보여줘”
“Show us!”
그렇게 난 학생들로 둘려 쌓인 하얀 보드 앞으로 가
I walked to the whiteboard, while surrounded with students,
수리물리학, 양자역학에 관한 문제를 풀면서 학생들 속에 섞이기 시작했다.
I started solving the quantum mechanic and mathematical physics problems on the board. I was adopted by the group of students.
미지의 공간 이었던 방 '2222'...
Room 2222 as mysterious space...
러시안 곰을 통해, 난 부탄,영국, 맥시코 등등, 전 세계 다양한 나라에서 살고 온 많은 학생들과,
Through Russian Bear, I met students from all walks of life and all different nationalities. I was able to interact with students from Bhutan, England, and Mexico, to name a few,
또한 미국 각 다른 주에서 온 다양한 삶을 살아가는 학생들과의 만남이
in addition to students that came from other states in United States.
이 곳 방 '2222' 으로 부터 시작된다.
All this started in room 2222.
그리고 아르메니아 여자인 Mrs. 코알라와 Mr. 코알라의 만남도 점점 가까워 지고 있었다.

이민자의 나라 미국
Country of immigrants
Mr. 코알라의 경험담 그리고 이미 '우리가 알고 있는' 미국 역사를 통해 알 듯, 미국은 많은 이민자로 만들어 졌다.
We know that America was made by many immigrations, as you can see in history of this country and parts of my story.
그리고, 미국은 다른 나라로 부터 온 이민자들에 의해 발전 하고 있다.
In addition, this country is developing by immigrations form different countries,
하지만 슬프게도, 나는 현재의 미국대통령으로 부터 나오는 정책과 말을 들어보면
Sadly, however, I heard about the policies and wordings from current president of United States.
미국 건국을 부정하는 것 같다는 생각을 해본다.
It seems that the fundamental origins of this country are now being denied.
이런 아이러니한 미국의 정치 상황이 나를 웃기면서도 매우 슬프게 한다.
The irony of the current political situation of this country is making me feel silly and extremely sad
